The past semester of university has been tough. It seems like school takes up all of my time and I can't catch a break. But then I think, this is what I signed up for and I'm in my third year now so obviously it's harder. I seriously can't wait to finish my degree.

Without a doubt being a student is hard and stressful. So, it's important to take good care of yourself because sometimes we forget. This seems pretty simple but it has taken me awhile to get to a healthy place. To learn in the past year what is truly  good for me, how to balance school and keep my spirit up too. Here are my tips:

1. Cut negative people/things out of your life
As you get older, you realize friendship is about quality not quantity. You want to surround yourself with people who make you better, really care about you and motivate, inspire you.

2. Eat healthy, drink lots of water
Easier said then done always. I noticed when I started eating a lot better, I started feeling better, becoming more productive and my skin got clearer as well. Take care of your body because you only have one. And you are so lucky to have a healthy one.

3. Keep active
Oh this is a big one that goes hand in hand with eating well. If I exercise a little bit everyday, I have more energy in my whole week. I exercise at night so it also helps my sleep pattern where I become more tired before bed. Meaning I go to bed earlier, can wake up earlier and get more done.

4. Spend time with family
I'm lucky to live in the same city as mine. And grateful that we're very close. So whenever I need a break or to gain a fresh perspective, I go home to spend time with them. Family is seriously everything. They keep me grounded.

5. Spend time in nature
Going out for a walk, getting some fresh air, soaking up the sun, looking at the stars at night. These are all little things that make my day. You are re-connecting with the earth. When everything is overwhelming, it's a reminder that you are tiny in the universe. Someone else is going through a similar situation.
