claire's guide to las vegas

New series of posts where I ask my best friends to write about their travels and share with you a lil guide they create. Enjoy Claire's guide to Las Vegas.

Travelling is one of my favorite things in life. Taking a trip away from the usual be it “across the pond” or just to the country next door is always sure to bring new memories, new friends and help you grow as a person.

This past month, I hopped on a plane to Las Vegas and met up with some old friends for that classic girl’s trip out of a movie. Surrounded by palm trees and tucked in the rock faced cliffs of Nevada’s desert, Vegas proved to be a whole lot more than just a party city (although it was a pretty good one at that). It was so much fun to relax and take in both the luxurious man made spectacles that are the hotels on the Strip and the natural beauty of the mountainous desert. But of course, Vegas really is the land of casinos and is home to the largest clubs in North America so getting to dance to some of the biggest DJs there are was definitely a highlight.

If you ever find yourself in Vegas here’s a quick little guide to some of my top things to do – especially if you end up waking up during the day!

-       Hotel hop – every hotel is themed and elaborately decorated – The Venetian is a must see!
-       Neon museum boneyard
-       Seven Magic Mountains – rent a car for this!
-       Sprinkles cupcake ATM
-       Red Rock Canyon
-       Relax by a pool
-       Bottomless mimosas at Wicked Spoon
-       Window shop the likes of Gucci, Chanel and Louis Vuitton

-       The High Roller – Vegas’ version of the London Eye
-       Catch Calvin Harris on a Friday at Omnia
-       Chandelier bar at the Cosmopolitan
-       The Bellagio Fountain show (free on every half hour)
-       Downtown Container Park
-       Fremont Street experience
-       The laundry room (a real speakeasy, with artisanal cocktails you’ll want to Instagram but can’t because no phones are allowed)
-       1Oak nightclub
-       Try to win big at a casino

All in all Vegas really surprised me, and is a place I would definitely visit again.
